Fees
for private psychological services are not covered
by MSI but most people have extended health coverage
(e.g. Blue
Cross), either through their places of employment
or privately, that will cover all or part of the
fees for psychological services. Fees not paid
by medical insurance are tax deductible as medical
expenses. Almost all insurance companies require
that clients pay for services directly and submit
their receipts to their insurer for reimbursement.

| Here's
a list of questions you should ask your insurance
company about coverage for psychological services: |
| |
Have
your insurance plan number and certificate or
identification number handy when you call.
- Does my plan cover the services of a Registered
Psychologist?
- How much coverage do I have per year?
- Is that per calendar year or per 12-month
period?
- Do you cover 100% of the amount or do I have
to pay a portion of each visit?
- Is there a deductible amount, which I have
to pay before I qualify for reimbursement?
- Do I require a physician's referral to qualify
for my insurance coverage?
- How do I submit my claim for reimbursement?
