I
can't see the table of contents!
Sometimes
it's possible to navigate to this site without having
gone through the opening page. If you've done that
it's possible that you won't be able to see the
table of contents on the left hand side of the screen.
To fix this, simply click here.
It's
also possible that you're using an older version
of Netscape or Internet Explorer that won't display
frames. If you're not using Netscape 4.6 or newer
or Internet Explorer 5 or newer (larger numbers
are newer -- you can check your version by quiting
and restarting your browser -- watch the opening
screen and keep track of the number that appears
after the name of the program) we highly suggest
that you download them now by clicking on either
Netscape
for Windows or Macintosh (for Netscape) or Microsoft
for Windows or Microsoft
for Macintosh (for Internet Explorer), since
much of the web now uses these technologies.

I've
got two or more copies of the table of contents!
We're
not really sure how this happens, but sometimes
it's possible to double up on the table of contents.
To correct this and return to the home page, click
here.

I
can't see the whole page without scrolling across!
This
site is best viewed at a screen resolution of 1024x768
(Maximized).
To
set the screen resolution on a PC, click on the
Start menu, select "Settings" then "Control
Panel" (if you're running Windows XP, there
will be a "Control Panels" icon in the
Start menu) and then "Display". One of
the tabs should be "Settings". Move the
slider on the bottom right hand side of the window
until the text below reads 1024 by 768 pixels or
more. Then click "OK" and your screen
will go dark for less than 5 seconds, after which
you should have a different resolution (the print
will probably look a little smaller).
To
set the screen resolution on a Macintosh, click
on the Apple Menu, select "Control Panels"
and then "Display". Select the at least
1024x768 from the drop-down menu and then click
"OK". Your screen will go dark momentarily
as it resets, after which you should have a different
resolution (the print will probably look a little
smaller). If you are running OS X, either select
the screen icon on the menu bar at the top, or select
"System Preferences" from the Dock and
then choose "Displays" before following
the remaining instructions, above.
If your screen is set to 1024x768 and you still
can't see everything without scrolling left to right,
click on the small square at the top of the window
that contains a second small square(not the line
or the "x") (if you are using OS X on
a Mac, this will be the green "+" gumdrop).
Once you've done that, you should be able to view
the full site.

How
do I get back to the beginning?
At
any point, just click on the "Home" at
the top left hand corner of the page to return to
the opening page.

The
colours of the site are really bright!
Strangely
enough, this is because your screen may be too dark.
Try adjusting the brightness and contrast controls
on your screen (they will vary in location from
screen to screen) by raising the brightness to almost
its maximum and reducing the contrast until the
screen is a pleasing brightness. This should work
for most screens, but you may have to adjust to
suit your individual tastes. In general, the factory
presets on screens have the brightness set too low
and the contrast too high.
