Fees For Couples' or Family Counselling

An initial two-hour assessment appointment costs $340.00.

Fees for subsequent appointments are $170.00 per hour. Some of the psychologists at GPS see couples for 1-hour appointments, while others prefer 1.5-hour appointments.

As in therapy, the hour is 50 minutes.

Payments are made when you arrive at Reception prior to the session.

Fees charged for missed appointments are due immediately and future appointments can be reserved only if payment arrangements are made immediately following the missed appointment. All costs to GPS of collecting are applied to unpaid accounts. When an account is forwarded to our collection agency, 40% is added to cover their fee.

Fees for Missed Appointments or Appointments Cancelled Without Sufficient Notice

Missed appointments or appointments cancelled without sufficient notice have the potential to be troublesome and to challenge the therapeutic relationship. To protect that relationship, our policy concerning missed appointments is adhered to without exception. GPS charges for all appointments missed or cancelled with less than 24-hours' notice and regardless of the reason, whether it be illness, emergency or inclement weather.

An appointment booked is time reserved for your exclusive use. It remains your financial responsibility unless you release it for use by someone else by providing at least 24-hours' notice of cancellation, which allows GPS to offer the time to another client.

Missed appointments are a cost to someone. If an event occurs that means you miss an appointment without sufficient notice, the cost rests with you. Occasionally, a client thinks an exception should be made; but an appointment is time purchased and reserved for you just as though you had purchased and reserved a ticket for an event, which would have to be paid for even if at the last minute you could not attend.

Appointments may be cancelled by fax, or email or by speaking to someone at GPS. It is important that if you leave a voicemail cancellation, you ensure that you receive confirmation from GPS to guarantee the cancellation is in effect. Monday appointments must be cancelled no later than noon Friday.

Receipts for missed appointments say "Missed Appointment". To do otherwise may defraud insurers

GPS psychologists will, at their discretion, offer a telephone session when illness or inclement weather or other exigencies prevent clients from attending their regularly scheduled appointment. The telephone session would occur only during the time slot already reserved for the client and must be paid for by MasterCard or VISA prior to the session.

Corporate Consulting Fees

At GPS, our Corporate Contracts are tailored to the individual requirements of our clients.  Upon initial contact, meetings with our corporate psychologists are arranged to determine specific consulting services.   We work with our clients to develop best-practice solutions which are incorporated into a Proposal including a time line and a budget.

Once a Proposal is approved, GPS draws up and presents a contract which is signed prior to the provision of services.

Extra-contractual services recommended or requested are negotiated on an as-required basis.

GPS services provided under Corporate Contracts are invoiced monthly and due upon receipt.

Fees for Assessments

Assessments may be contracted either by individuals or agencies such as insurance companies or lawyers. When an agency requests an assessment, GPS requires a written undertaking to pay our invoice to be received prior to the assessment. When an individual requests an assessment, GPS requires the fee (based on an estimate we provide) to be paid one week in advance of the assessment date reserved.

Fees for assessments, other than neuropsychological assessments, are based on a $160/hour rate, plus the cost of tests used.

Fees for a neuropsychological assessments (which includes an interview, a full day of testing, the file review and report-writing), are based on a fee of $2680. This includes the cost of test materials.

Fees for Legal Consultations

When a lawyer requests an assessment, GPS requires a written undertaking to pay our invoice to be received two weeks prior to the assessment. A retainer is also due two weeks prior to the assessment date. This retainer reserves the day necessary for interviewing and testing and pays for the pre-requisite file review.

Fees for legal consultations, other than neuropsychological consultations, are based on a $190/hour rate, plus the cost of tests used.

Fees for a neuropsychological assessments (which includes an interview, a full day of testing, the file review and report-writing), are based on a fee of $2930. This includes the cost of test materials.

Fees for Court

If any employee or Associate contracted by GPS is requested or subpoenaed to appear in court, clients are responsible for the fee at the rate of $190.00 per hour. Time booked but not used must be paid for unless cancelled five working days in advance.
